DESCRIPTION
The Amazon High-Volume Hiring (HVH) team is responsible for a portfolio consumer-grade capabilities that enable Amazon to recruit and hire our hourly workforce across 2,700+ buildings in 33 countries for multiple operational roles. In addition to engaging hyper local candidate audiences at global scale, HVH serves hundreds of internal recruiters and vendors responsible for staffing operations. A major focus for HVH is replacing a legacy 3rd Party software with our suite of AWS-native hiring capabilities including digital marketing, candidate screening, application tracking, candidate servicing, and on-boarding. We are an agile team, moving quickly in collaboration with our business to bring new features to millions of prospective Amazonians while having fun and filing new inventions along the way. If you can think big and want to join a fast moving team breaking new ground at Amazon we would like to speak with you!
Our mission is to develop solutions that enable Amazon to hire the global, hourly workforce it needs to deliver on behalf of customers. Our services are designed to get the right people into the right roles as fast and as efficiently as possible. We deliver configurable, Geo-intelligent solutions that adapt to country-level recruiting needs and engage regional candidate audiences through mobile first channels.
As a Senior Manager, Software Development you will help establish technical standards and drive the overall technical architecture and engineering practices. You will work on all aspects of the software development while focusing on the hardest problems. You will build high quality, architecturally sound systems that are aligned with our business needs. You will think globally when designing and building the software, ensuring the software is evolving in the right long term direction while bringing value to customers iteratively. You will coach, mentor, and guide the efforts of developers across multiple locations.
At Amazon we value critical thinking, self-motivation, and the ability to deal with ambiguity. You should bring a cool head, strong technical background, be detail oriented, have excellent problem-solving abilities, and be an exemplary communicator. Your technical expertise and operational excellence will influence your team’s decisions and help drive secure and robust customer solutions. We love people who innovate, use data to make decisions, and can express themselves thoughtfully. We want you to be passionate about delivering a great customer experience, and to love driving the team to reach and exceed their goals.
Our team also puts a high value on work-life balance. Striking a healthy balance between your personal and professional life is crucial to your happiness and success here, which is why we aren’t focused on how many hours you spend at work or online. Instead, we’re happy to offer a flexible schedule so you can have a more productive and well-balanced life—both in and outside of work.
We have a formal mentor search application that lets you find a mentor that works best for you based on location, job family, job level etc. Your manager can also help you find a mentor or two, because two is better than one. In addition to formal mentors, we work and train together so that we are always learning from one another, and we celebrate and support the career progression of our team members.
