Key Responsibilities
Work closely with business stakeholders, data analysts, and architects to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Address any issues that arise.
Optimize Snowflake data warehouse performance through partitioning, clustering, and query tuning. Maintain and maintain this data.
Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance across all data assets to ensure no errors are missed. Automate data workflows and support CI/CD practices for data pipeline deployments to ensure timely deployments.
Document data flows, models, and transformation logic for transparency and maintainability.
Qualifications
Data Engineers should have 4+ years of experience in a relevant field and possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree. Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and data modeling techniques.
Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and data lake architecture is required. A basic understanding of basic tools is required. Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and data security best practices is required.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills are required.
Skills
- Experience with dbt, Airflow, or other orchestration tools is required.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
- A data engineer should be adept at designing efficient data pipelines, managing large datasets, and ensuring smooth data flow within the system.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
