About the role
Carrier’s Fire & Security IoT Solutions team is seeking an accomplished Embedded Firmware Engineer with a strong background in developing connected solutions. This role is pivotal in supporting the Fire & Security businesses by assisting with pre-development, development, and integration of IoT platforms, as well as collaborating directly with customers to drive innovation in IoT.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Embedded Lead Engineer, you’ll be responsible for:
- Development of middleware applications, IPCs, Protocols drivers for Linux & RTOS platforms
- Involve in all aspects of the system software development process (concept, design, reviews, coding, and validation).
- Follow coding practices, guidelines & documentation practices.
- Coordinates and facilitates the design, fabrication, modification, and evaluation of electronic apparatus, components, or circuitry for use in electronic equipment and devices, ensuing work is completed on time and established quality and budgets are achieved.
- Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems and networks to ensure that business objectives and required specifications are met.
- Prepares engineering sketches or specifications to construct, relocate, or install equipment, facilities, products, or systems.
- Prepares documentation including confidential descriptions or specifications of proprietary hardware or software, information on product development, introduction schedules, product costs, and performance weaknesses to track progress and analyze performance.
- Performs engineering work and applied research, development, and design of new products to ensure quality standards and business objectives are met.
Requirements
- Requires advanced knowledge obtained through a university degree, combined with experience
Practical to substantial knowledge of Carrier organization, programs or systems with the ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily work
University Degree or equivalent
A minimum of 5 years prior relevant experience
