Qualifications

• BSN or matriculation in a BSN program within one year
• Master’s degree in nursing, education, or related field preferred
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in Hospice
• Prior experience as a preceptor or nurse educator preferred
• Clinical nursing proficiency
• Teaching or training experience (formal or informal)
• Basic computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Experience with public speaking and staff/community presentations preferred
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Texas
• BLS certification
• Certification in area of specialty preferred

Responsibilities

• Develop, provide, and coordinate education within assigned unit
• Educate nurses, patient care technicians, CNAs, and ward clerks
• Collaborate with unit leadership to identify educational needs
• Coordinate with nursing education professionals
• Assist with assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of education services
• Manage unit-based orientation programs
• Support preceptor development and management
• Support resident development and management
• Conduct annual competency assessments with unit leadership
