Chevron is seeking an experienced Lead IT Cybersecurity Engineer to design, implement, and maintain advanced cybersecurity solutions that protect enterprise systems, networks, and data assets. This role involves leading security initiatives, performing risk assessments, and guiding cross-functional teams to strengthen Chevron’s global cybersecurity posture. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of security architecture, cloud security, incident response, and compliance frameworks.
🔑 Key Responsibilities:
- Lead cybersecurity design and architecture for enterprise-level systems and networks
- Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and best practices
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability testing to identify potential threats
- Collaborate with IT and business teams to ensure secure system integration
- Monitor and respond to security incidents, coordinating with global teams for remediation
- Manage security audits and ensure compliance with industry standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, and SOC 2
- Research and deploy emerging security technologies to protect critical infrastructure
- Mentor and provide technical leadership to junior cybersecurity engineers
🛠️ Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field
- 4+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, including leadership roles
- Strong understanding of network security, endpoint protection, SIEM, IAM, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems
- Hands-on experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Familiarity with DevSecOps practices, threat intelligence, and incident response
- Professional certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CISM, or CompTIA Security+ (preferred)
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills
