About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced senior Ruby on Rails Developer to join OpiGo’s growing team (remote, with Mumbai location preferred). You’ll play a crucial role in architecting, developing, and maintaining our robust and scalable investing platform. Working closely with the product team and other stakeholders, you’ll drive innovation and deliver exceptional user experiences.
Responsibilities:
● Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, performant, and secure Ruby on Rails code for our backend systems. ● Collaborate with the product team to understand user needs and translate them into technical specifications.
● Develop and implement APIs that seamlessly integrate with our front-end applications and third-party services.
● Manage and optimize PostgreSQL databases, ensuring data integrity and efficient data retrieval.
● Write unit and integration tests to ensure code reliability and maintainability.
● Implement security best practices, encryption techniques, and access controls to protect sensitive user data.
● Contribute to the overall codebase architecture and maintain clean, well-documented code.
● Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to ensure scalability and a smooth user experience.
● Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in Ruby on Rails, related libraries, and best practices.
Qualifications:
● 3+ years of experience building back-end applications using Ruby on Rails.
● Strong understanding of Ruby programming language and its scope. (We understand this may be redundant with the next point, but we’ve kept it as requested)
● Experience in building complex and scalable web applications.
● Familiarity with front-end technologies: React Native, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3.
● Proficient in version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN).
● Expertise in relational databases (PostgreSQL).
● Hands-on experience with Sidekiq, Redis, and background job processing systems.
● Ability to implement real-time features using WebSockets and Action Cable.
● Experience in monitoring and performance tuning with tools like New Relic.
● Knowledge of payment gateway integration and secure transaction processing.
● Experience deploying applications on cloud platforms like AWS or Google Cloud.
● Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
● Understanding of Agile development methodologies and software development practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
● Experience in the fintech industry or working on financial applications.
● Knowledge of frontend technologies such as React Native, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3, 77
● Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
● Familiarity with Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
● Contributions to open-source projects or active participation in the developer community.
