A launch in 2024?
As the dust begins to fall from the massive Samsung Unpacked 2023 event, we can focus our attention on the future of what Samsung may have in mind next: an intelligent ring that could be very soon.
According to a report by South Korean outlet The Elec (via SamMobile), the production process for the Samsung Galaxy Ring could begin in August, with a decision expected on when it will be possible to get the device manufactured and released to the public.
The full launch is scheduled for 2024, not 2023. Because of its nature, the gadget implies that it will need to overcome numerous regulatory hurdles before it can be sold and begin recording various essential statistics.
A launch in 2024 could place it on the Galaxy Ring on a similar schedule as that of the Samsung Galaxy S24. It would be logical to launch both devices simultaneously, possibly in January or February, if Samsung adopts its 2023 schedule.
The so far story :
Rumors of the possibility of a Samsung Galaxy Ring have been in the air from at least the beginning of last year after a Samsung patent was revealed that pointed to the case of a smart ring by the company that could be used to track everything from steps and heart rates.
Following the patent was the trademark application earlier in the year, including the Galaxy Ring by name and calling it an intelligent device “for monitoring health indicators and sleeping in the shape of a ring.”
The speculation then jumped to a new level earlier in the month when we learned that Galaxy Ring prototypes had been test-run. According to our report in the past, the prototypes were in an advanced stage and being assessed on their durability.
These indicators point in the same direction and indicate that this Samsung Galaxy Ring will be more readily available than later. The 3rd generation The Oura is the most famous smart ring and provides a glimpse into what Galaxy Ring might do.
