Role Description
This is a full-time remote role for a Shopify Developer at SeamsFriendly. The Shopify Developer will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and customizing our online store on the Shopify platform. The day-to-day tasks include front-end and back-end development, implementing new features, optimizing performance, ensuring responsive design, and collaborating with the design and marketing teams.
Must-Have Skills:
- Expert knowledge of web standards and technologies: Drupal theming, PHP, CSS, HTML5, JavaScript, etc.
- Experience using front-end frameworks such as AngularJS, ReactJS, Ember, Zurb Foundation, Bootstrap, and other grid systems.
- A desire to learn and adapt to new applications and frameworks and enthusiasm for exciting and innovative technologies.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality work on time.
- Experience with Git, using the terminal, and managing your front-end
- An excellent understanding of Drupal and using Drupal tools such as Drush and Composer.
- Drupal 8 experience with Twig, theme suggestions, variable encoding on a page for JS, preprocessors desired.
Responsibilities:
- Develops e-commerce solutions by gathering specs, studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes
- Responsible for analysis of current programs, including performance, diagnosis, and troubleshooting of problems and designing solutions to fix (ownership of product – performance, debugging, design)
- Write and execute feature tests, integration tests, end-to-end tests, fuzzy tests
- Building out custom Shopify themes and modifying pre-existing themes depending on the scope of the project
- Support other technical infrastructure (e.g., repository, build system, testing system) under guidance from the Leads
- Performs more consistently and works together with the team to ensure project success
- Stay abreast of current trends and best practices in coding standards and cloud technologies
Qualifications:
- B.E./B.Tech, CS/IT Graduates with strong programming and analytical skills
- Possess a strong understanding of basic areas of e-commerce solution
- 2 to 3 years of experience in Shopify and Shopify Plus platform, including knowledge of Slate/Theme Kit
- 2+ years of working with modern technologies such as HTML5 and CSS3 experience
Nice to have skills:
- Strong written & verbal communication skills
- Passion for best development practices – Unit testing, TDD, BDD, modularity, Micro Services
- Knowledge of Shopify Ajax API a plus, as well as experience configuring third-party apps
- Expert in Shopify APIs and their usage
- Working knowledge in Custom Shopify APP development
- Proven expertise with Admin API and Storefront API
- Background in Product modeling and configuration via Shopify Admin
- Understanding of Product, Discount, Order APIs, and customizations using the APIs
- Awareness of the Marketing Events, Discounts, Subscriptions, Gift Cards, Rewards, Reviews, Loyalty programs and their configurations in Shopify
- Solid knowledge of performance improvement best practices
