We are seeking a Senior Backend Developer – WordPress to join our high-performing team of digital experts. Key Responsibilities
• Backend Architecture & Development
• Design, build, and optimize complex backend systems for high-performance WordPress applications.
• Develop and maintain custom plugins, REST APIs, and integrations with third-party platforms.
• Oversee and enhance WooCommerce backend functionalities for scalability and stability.
• Technical Leadership & Mentorship
• Provide technical guidance to the backend development team.
• Review code to ensure adherence to WordPress coding standards, security best practices, and scalability requirements.
• Foster a culture of knowledge-sharing, continuous improvement, and innovation.
• Collaboration & Delivery
• Work closely with frontend developers, UI/UX designers, and project managers to ensure seamless project execution.
• Participate in sprint planning, task allocation, and technical discussions.
• Proactively troubleshoot performance bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, and backend issues.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Technical Expertise
• Strong proficiency in PHP, MySQL, REST APIs, and OOP concepts.
• Deep knowledge of WordPress core architecture, hooks, filters, themes, and plugins.
• Proven experience in WooCommerce customization, API integration, and backend optimization.
• Familiarity with WordPress page builders (Elementor, Divi, Beaver Builder, Oxygen Builder).
• Development Practices
• Proficiency in version control (Git) and agile project management tools (e.g., Jira).
• Strong grasp of security best practices, database optimization, and caching mechanisms.
• Knowledge of CSS preprocessors (Sass/Less) for structured styling workflows.
• Soft Skills & Leadership
• Minimum 8–10 years of WordPress backend experience, with at least 2+ years in a senior or lead role.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Demonstrated experience mentoring junior developers or leading project teams.
Preferred Qualifications
• Exposure to AI/ML-based WordPress integrations (chatbots, content automation, personalization engines).
• Experience with headless WordPress (WP REST API, GraphQL) setups.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and CI/CD workflows.
