Job Description :
– Design and implement robust database schemas, tables, stored procedures, views, and functions to support application development and business needs.
– Development : Write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes. Develop complex SQL scripts to support reporting and data analytics.
– Performance Tuning : Monitor and optimize the performance of database systems, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks and ensuring efficient data retrieval.
– Data Integrity : Ensure data integrity and consistency across the database by implementing appropriate data validation, indexing, and normalization techniques.
– Maintenance : Perform regular database maintenance tasks, including backups, indexing, and updates, to ensure the reliability and availability of data.
– Collaboration : Work closely with application developers, data analysts, and other stakeholders to understand their data requirements and provide appropriate database solutions.
– Troubleshooting : Diagnose and resolve database-related issues, including performance problems, data inconsistencies, and system errors.
– Documentation : Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database designs, processes, and procedures.
– Security : Implement and enforce database security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
– Continuous Improvement : Stay updated with the latest industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in database management and SQL development.
Qualifications :
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience :
– 2 to 5 years of experience in SQL development and database management.
Technical Skills :
– Proficiency in SQL and experience with database management systems (e.g, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle).
– Strong understanding of database design principles, normalization, and indexing.
– Experience with ETL processes and data integration techniques.
– Knowledge of performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting techniques.
– Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and tools is a plus.
– Experience with database security and data protection measures.
– Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Java, or C# is a plus.
– Experience with reporting and data visualization tools (e.g, Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
