Responsibilities
- Understand customer impact, and manage escalations through diagnosis, troubleshooting, and resolution on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) products through excellent customer management. Contribute to Supportability Engineering with the product, SRE, and engineering teams to improve product quality and reduce contact rate.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of SAP-on-GCP and SAP on Google Bare Metal Solutions (BMS) technologies and solutions by troubleshooting, reproducing, and determining root causes.
- Act as subject matter expert for internal/external stakeholders and customer organizations, resolve technical deployment obstacles and improve SAP-on-GCP/BMS and other products through understanding issue management and resolution processing.
- Improve support experience for SAP-on-GCP/BMS. Develop best practices based on learnings from the support of cloud-based SAP solutions according to customer requirements and technical implementations.
- Work with a team of developers/consultants that globally ensure 24-hour customer support. Work non-standard work hours or shifts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience supporting customers in the enterprise cloud.
- Experience with SAP technologies and architecture/infrastructure needs in computing infrastructure, supporting, developing, and maintaining cloud solutions.
- Experience reading and debugging code (e.g., Java, C, C++, .NET, Python, Shell/Bash, Perl/JavaScript).
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of basic web technologies (e.g., HTTP, HTML, DNS, etc.).
- System/network administrator level knowledge of Linux/Unix.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (e.g., TCP/IP, Routing, VPNs, VLANs, Peering, Load Balancing, etc).
- Familiarity with SAP basic operations on public cloud around core production concepts (i.e., high availability, disaster recovery, multi-tenancy, scale-out and scale-up architectures, shared storage solutions, clustering solutions, etc.).
- Familiarity with SAP proprietary technologies and architecture (e.g., ABAP programming, Java programming, SAP HANA technology and administration).
- Excellent attention to detail, troubleshooting, and written and verbal communication skills.
